December 4, 202410:18 a.m.

Police arrested Jmaurie Tucker (27) of Chesterfield, NJ for an active Manville arrest warrant. He was processed and released on his own recognizance with a future court date.

December 4, 2024 10:25 a.m.

Police spoke with a resident who advised that he was scammed. The resident advised that while on his computer a pop-up showed up on his screen telling him to call a phone number in order to disable it. He called the number and the person on the phone asked him to purchase Lowes gift cards as a payment to remove viruses from his computer. He subsequently purchased the gift cards and supplied the card and pin numbers for them. Police are investigating the fraud.

December 6, 2024 10:20 a.m.

Police responded to a residential area on the report of solicitors. Police located two males soliciting services without permits from the Borough. The males, Jose Marrero (24) of Bayonne, NJ and Alan Marinmrulanda (34) of Lakewood, NJ, were subsequently issued Borough Ordinance summonses for Soliciting without Permits.

December 7, 2024 6:18 p.m.

Police were dispatched to Walmart on the report of a disorderly male. Upon arrival, patrol was advised by Walmart staff that the customer was a former employee and was arguing with people in the store. Police made contact with the former employee and advised him Walmart no longer wanted him to return to the store. He stated he understood and signed a trespassing notice.

December 11, 2024 12:32 p.m.

Police were dispatched to Fulton Bank on the report of suspicious bank activity. An employee at the bank notified police that there was a customer who was attempting to cash a fraudulent check. The employee also noticed that the customer was part of a known theft crew who had previously attempted to cash a fraudulent check in another Fulton Bank a few hours earlier. Detectives subsequently arrested Brendan Hunt-Lewis (33) of Neptune, NJ, as well as Mykal Hall (32) of Neptune, NJ and Harold Peavey Jr. (29) of Long Branch, NJ and were charged with multiple felony counts of Bank Fraud. They were processed and transported to Somerset County Jail.

December 13, 2024 9:01 p.m.

Police conducted a motor vehicle stop for numerous traffic violations. It was determined the driver, Eddie Infante (36) of Somerset, NJ, was under the influence of alcohol. He was subsequently placed under arrest, processed and released to a responsible party.

December 14, 2024

Police were notified by a third-party of a domestic dispute. The reporting party stated that while she was driving, she observed a female running down the street and crying. The female reported to police she was in a physical altercation with her husband. Police located her husband, a 43 year-old male, who was subsequently placed under arrest for Domestic Violence Simple Assault.  He was processed and transported to Somerset County Jail.

December 14, 2024 2:32 p.m.

Police spoke with a resident who advised he was the victim of an identity theft. The male reported that he lost his wallet containing his driver’s license as well as his social security card in November. He recently began receiving mail about outstanding debts for accounts that were opened in his name after he lost his wallet. Police are investigating the incident.

December 16, 2024 9:52 p.m.

Police were dispatched to a motor vehicle collision. Upon patrol’s investigation of the crash, it was determined the driver of the vehicle at fault was under the influence of alcohol. The driver, Melvin G. Alvarado-Araya (51) of Manville, NJ, was subsequently placed under arrest, processed, and released to a responsible party.

December 20, 2024  3:03 a.m.

Police were dispatched to a residence on the report of a catalytic converter theft in progress. Patrol spoke with the caller who advised that she was woken up by the sound of a power tool being used. When she looked outside of her window, she observed three masked men attempting to steal her neighbor’s catalytic converter. Police were made aware of other catalytic converter thefts in the area and are actively investigating the thefts.

 

December 20, 2024 11:39 a.m.

Patrol was dispatched to Walmart on the report of a shoplifting in progress. Upon arrival, the shoplifter had fled from the store without the merchandise however, a female accomplice was still there. Further investigation revealed that the female, Monique Harris (52) of Plainfield, NJ, had two active warrants for her arrest. She was processed and taken to Somerset County Jail.

December 20, 2024 4:06 p.m.

Police were dispatched to Walmart on the report of shoplifting. Upon arrival, patrol spoke with Walmart staff who advised that a female, who they currently had in their custody, concealed merchandise in her purse and attempted to leave the store without paying for it. The female, Gina Fallas (38) of Bridgewater, NJ, was placed under arrest, processed and released with a future court appearance. 

December 21, 2024 12:44 p.m.

Police were dispatched to a local business on the report of a stolen tip jar. Upon arrival, police spoke with an employee who advised that a black male had stolen the tip jar and got into a vehicle. Further investigation revealed that the male was Yasin Morris (42) of Manville, NJ. He was later charged with Theft, processed and released with a future court date.

 

December 21, 2024 10:27 p.m.

Police arrested Matthew Bell (46) of Roselle, NJ on an outstanding warrant. He was processed and released with a future court date.

December 22, 2024 10:33 p.m.

Police were dispatched to Walmart on the report of a shoplifter who had fled from the store. Police spoke with staff who advised that Yasin Morris (42) of Manville, NJ had taken steaks and multiple bags of shrimp from the store without paying for them. Morris later returned to the store and was subsequently placed under arrest for Shoplifting and Trespassing. He was processed and turned over to the Somerville Police Department for an active warrant in their jurisdiction.

December 24, 2024 1:46 a.m.

While on routine patrol an officer was flagged down regarding a motor vehicle collision that had just occurred. The officer’s investigation determined that the driver of the vehicle at fault was under the influence of alcohol. Raimundo Perea-Hernandez (37) of Manville NJ was subsequently placed under arrest. A search of his person was conducted, and police located a large quantity of money as well as drugs. He was processed and charged with a Controlled Dangerous Substance Offense as well as Driving Under the Influence. He was later released to a responsible party.

 December 26, 2024  8:03 p.m.

Police conducted a motor vehicle stop for numerous traffic violations and arrested Oscar D. Velasquez (21) of Somerset, NJ for an outstanding warrant. He was processed and released on his own recognizance from with a new court date.

December 26, 2024 10:56 p.m.

Police conducted a motor vehicle stop and arrested Ronald E. De Leon Roldan (36) of Bound Brook, NJ on an active warrant out of the Somerset County Sheriff’s Office. He was processed and transported to Somerset County Jail.

December 29, 2024 2:42 a.m.

Patrol conducted a motor vehicle stop for numerous traffic violations. It was determined that the driver, Marisol Monge-Arce (53) of Manville, NJ, was under the influence of alcohol. She was subsequently placed under arrest, processed, and released to a responsible party.

December 30, 2024 8:32 p.m.

Police were dispatched to a local residence on the report of a missing juvenile. Patrol spoke with the juvenile’s mother who advised that her daughter had left the house earlier that day and refused to show her location. She wished for her daughter to be placed in the National Database for Missing Persons. She was subsequently entered into the database. Juvenile was subsequently located.

NOTE: The charges are merely an accusation, and the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
