May 2, 2025 3:24 p.m.

Police were dispatched to a local bank on the report of a male attempting to cash a fraudulent check. While patrol was being dispatched, the male left the bank on foot. Police located the male who subsequently gave false information to police. He was later identified as Herman Burrell (70) of East Orange, NJ and placed under arrest. He was charged with multiple indictable offenses and released on a summons with a future court date.

May 3, 2025 6:28 a.m.

Police were dispatched to a local convenience store on the report of a disorderly male inside the store. Management of the store advised they wished for the male to be trespassed from the location. Patrol made contact with the male who was subsequently advised he was no longer allowed in the store.

May 4, 2025 6:02 a.m.

Patrol conducted a motor vehicle stop for numerous violations. While conducting their investigation it was determined the driver, Jill Reilly (47) of Manville, NJ, was under the influence of alcohol. She was arrested, processed and released to a responsible party.

May 5, 2025

Police were dispatched to a local residence for a report of an ex-boyfriend who entered the residence unlawfully, threatened the caller, and assaulted her current boyfriend. Prior to patrol’s arrival the male left the scene. Police gathered all the information and generated a warrant for the 35-year-old male’s arrest. The male later turned himself over to police and was subsequently processed and transported to Somerset County Jail.

May 8, 2025 2:07 a.m.

Patrol conducted a motor vehicle stop for traffic violations. Patrol identified a passenger in the vehicle, Ustania McNamara (43) of Manville, NJ, who had an active warrant for her arrest from another jurisdiction. She was placed under arrest and turned over to the Somerville Police Department for processing.

May 8, 2025 12:16 p.m.

Police arrested Amara Kromah (25) of Newark, NJ for an active Manville arrest warrant. He was processed and transported to Somerset County Jail.

May 8, 2025 8:14 p.m.

Police arrested Duane Holmes (44) of Manville, NJ for an active warrant. He was processed and released on his own recognizance with a future court date.

May 9, 2025 7:39 p.m.

Police were dispatched to the Walmart parking lot for a report of a motor vehicle burglary. Patrol spoke with the victim who stated she returned to her vehicle after shopping and her doors were open and a backpack was missing from the car. Police are investigating the incident.

May 10, 2025 10:15 p.m.

Police conducted a motor vehicle stop for numerous traffic violations. While conducting their investigation it was determined the driver, Josue Rodriguez-Jiminez (38) of Manville, NJ, was under the influence. He was arrested, processed and released to a responsible party.

May 12, 2025

Police were dispatched to a local residence on the report of a domestic dispute. A 57-year-old female was arrested for criminal mischief. She was processed and released on a summons with a future court date.

May 16, 2025 5:50 p.m.

Police were dispatched to Walmart for a report of a shoplifting in progress. Patrol made contact with the suspect, Donna Carreker (56) of Manville, NJ, and placed her under arrest. She was charged with shoplifting, processed and released with a future court date.

May 19, 2025 1:19 a.m.

Police responded to a local convenience store on the report of a drunk male urinating on the building. Patrol located the male, Joel Picado (42) of Somerville, NJ, and issued him a summons for the incident. He was released and sent on his way.

May 19, 2025 5:54 p.m.

Police conducted a motor vehicle stop for numerous violations. Further investigation revealed the driver gave a false name to the officer that conducted the motor vehicle stop. Arturo Navarro-Gamboa (43) of Manville, NJ was subsequently placed under arrest for the incident and found to have multiple outstanding warrants for his arrest. He was charged with hindering apprehension and transported to Somerset County Jail.

May 21, 2025 6:24 p.m.

Police and fire responded to a local residence on the report of a shed on fire. The investigation revealed that the owner of the residence was attempting to get a rat out of the shed by utilizing smoke. A fire then broke out in the shed causing damage to property inside of the shed. The fire department was able to extinguish the fire and order was restored.

May 23, 2025 9:12 p.m.

Police responded to a local business for a report of an unwanted person. The manager of the business advised that a male patron was acting disorderly and arguing with her. Police made contact with the male and advised him he was no longer allowed on the premises.

May 25, 2025 11:35 p.m.

Police conducted a motor vehicle stop for numerous traffic violations. While conducting their investigation, patrol observed illegal narcotics in plain view of the vehicle. The driver, Tyler Cheek (26) of Manville, NJ, was subsequently placed under arrest, charged and released on a summons with a future court date.

May 28, 2025 12:59 p.m.

Police arrested Kareem Boyd (41) of Manville, NJ for an outstanding warrant. He was processed and transported to Somerset County Jail.

May 28, 2025 2:52 p.m.

Police were dispatched to an abandoned business on the report of vandalism. Patrol spoke with the property manager who advised that over the past two months, someone had spraypainted graffiti on the windows of the building. Police are investigating the incident.

May 29, 2025

Police were dispatched to a domestic dispute. An investigation led to a 50-year-old male being arrested for domestic violence simple assault. He was processed and transported to Somerset County Jail.

May 29, 2025

Police were dispatched to a domestic dispute. An investigation led to a 32-year-old male being charged for criminal mischief. A summons was generated and later served to him.
