October 2, 2023, 6:23 p.m.

Patrol was dispatched to Walmart on the report of a shoplifting complaint. Upon arrival, patrol arrested Charisma Ritter (32) of North Plainfield for shoplifting. She was later released with a pending court date.

October 3, 2023, 3:13 p.m.

Patrol was dispatched to a local business on the report of a shoplifting complaint. Patrol spoke with an employee who reported that two females left the store without paying for merchandise. Police are investigating the incident.

October 3, 2023, 5:17 p.m.

Patrol was dispatched to a residence on the report of an unknown male using profanity and lewd act towards a female in public. After reviewing video surveillance footage from a local business, police were able to identify the male as Precious Taylor (41) of Somerville. He was subsequently charged with Lewdness for his actions.

October 4, 2023, 8:45 a.m.

Police arrested Jesse Panyko (39), a homeless male, on an outstanding Manville warrant. He was subsequently released on his own recognizance and provided a new court date.

October 5, 2023, 2:57 p.m.

Police spoke with the owner of an oil tank removal company who advised he was given a check for a service he provided that was unable to be cashed. After further review of the incident, Joann May (50) of Manville was charged with writing a bad check and provided a copy of her summons.

October 6, 2023

Police arrested a 34-year-old male for violating a Domestic Violence Restraining Order. He was processed and transported to Somerset County Jail.

October 7, 2023, 4:18 a.m.

Police arrested Dylan Panatero (40) of Toms River on an active warrant. He was processed and released with a new court date.

October 7, 2023, 9:28 p.m.

Police arrested Rashad Privott (41) of Willingboro on an active warrant. He was processed and released with a new court date.

October 8, 2023, 11:09 p.m.

Police were given a wallet that was left at a local business. Patrol located the owner of the wallet and returned it to them.

October 9, 2023, 6:22 p.m.

Police were dispatched to Walmart on the report of a shoplifting. Patrol arrested Yasin Morris (41) of Manville for shoplifting. He was processed and released with a pending court date.

October 9, 2023, 10:54 p.m.

Police conducted a motor vehicle stop and subsequently arrest the driver, Patricia Varela (37) of North Brunswick on an active warrant. She was processed and released with a new court date.

October 10, 2023, 11:51 p.m.

Patrol conducted a pedestrian stop on a male, who identified himself to patrol as William Sporman (37) of Hillsborough. It was revealed that Sporman had two outstanding warrants out of Pennsylvania, and he was subsequently arrested. He was processed and transported to Somerset County Jail.

October 11, 2023, 4:44 p.m.

Police located and arrested Deborah Nickerson (41) of Manville on two outstanding fugitive warrants. Nickerson was processed and lodged in Somerset County Jail.

Patrol arrested a 46-year-old female for domestic violence simple assault. She was processed and lodged in Somerset County Jail.

Patrol arrested a 19-year-old male for domestic violence simple assault. He was processed and later transported to Somerset County Jail.

October 12, 2023, 10:33 p.m.

Police arrested Amara Kromah (23) of Riverdale, Georgia on an outstanding Manville warrant. He was subsequently released on his own recognizance and provided a new court date.

October 13, 2023, 2:41 a.m.

Police were dispatched to a local residence on the report of vandalism to a vehicle. The reporting party stated he came home and noticed extensive damage to his car after an argument with another individual. Police are investigating the incident.

October 13, 2023, 12:45 p.m.

Police were dispatched to CVS on the report of a shoplifting. Patrol located the shoplifter, Yasin Morris (41) of Manville and placed him under arrest. He was processed and released with a future court date.

October 16, 2023, 7:44 a.m.

Police located Dominic Lumia (41) of Somerville who was known to have an active fugitive warrant. He was placed under arrest, processed and transported to Somerset County Jail.

October 17, 2023

Police arrested a 65-year-old female for domestic violence simple assault. She was processed and later transported to Somerset County Jail.

October 19, 2023, 4:08 p.m.

Police spoke with a resident who advised that sometime in the past couple of days someone stole the catalytic converter from her vehicle. Police are investigating the theft.

October 22, 2023, 4:08 p.m.

Police arrested Jada M. Williams (42) of Somerville on an active Manville arrest warrant. She was processed and transported to Somerset County Jail.

October 23, 2023 at 10:33 p.m.

Police conducted a motor vehicle check on a vehicle idling in the South Main Street Municipal Parking Lot. Due to suspicious circumstances, a Somerset County Sheriffs K-9 Officer responded to the scene. The K-9 indicated on the vehicle, and after a probable cause search was conducted, multiple types of drugs and paraphernalia were located in the vehicle. Christos A. Metaxas (46) and Keiaundra N. Drury (30) of Manville were subsequently arrested, charged accordingly, processed and released with a pending court date.

October 24, 2023, 10:05 a.m.

Patrol was dispatched to a local residence on the report of a female going through the resident’s mailbox. Video surveillance footage was provided to police showing a female opening the mailbox and throwing the mail on the floor. Police are developing a suspect for the incident.

October 24, 2023, 5:30 p.m.

Police were dispatched to a local residence on the report of a motor vehicle burglary. Police spoke with the victim who advised that sometime overnight someone went through her vehicle and stole 3 bottles of cologne. Police are investigating the incident.

October 25, 2023, 6:29 a.m.

Patrol was dispatched to Walmart on the report of an unwanted female inside the store asking people for money. Police located the female and advised her she was being trespassed from the store by Walmart management.

October 26, 2023, 12:05 a.m.

Police were dispatched to a local bar on the report of a disorderly male being aggressive towards females in the bar. Prior to patrol arrival, the male left the bar and began driving home. Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on the vehicle and it was deemed that the driver, Mark A. Montgomery (40) of Washington was driving under the influence. He was arrested, processed and released to a responsible party.

 October 26, 2023, 5:00 p.m.

Police concluded a four-month forged check investigation where a male wrote a fake check under a local business’s name and attempted to cash it. It was determined that Ben C. Shafer (34) of Branchville attempted to cash the fake check. He was subsequently charged with Forgery and a summons was generated for the incident.

October 28, 2023, 8:14 a.m.

Police were advised that an unknown group of individuals stole a catalytic converter from a vehicle on the south-side of town during the overnight hours. It was later determined there were three more incidents of catalytic converters stolen from vehicles during that time frame in that area. Police are actively investigating the thefts.

October 29, 2023, 1:44 a.m.

Police arrested Henry Johnny (33) of North Brunswick on an active Manville warrant. He was processed and released on his own recognizance with a new court date.

October 29, 2023, 10:03 p.m.

Patrol was dispatched to a local residence on the report of a female who entered into an unlocked vehicle that did not belong to her. It does not appear that anything was taken from the car however, police are awaiting video surveillance footage of the incident.

October 30, 2023, 1:38 a.m.

Police were dispatched to Quick Chek on the report of a shoplifting in progress. Patrol arrived and located the female in question with stolen merchandise from the store. Melissa Stani (47) of Somerset was arrested and searched on scene. During the search it was determined that she had drugs on her person. She was transported to Manville Police headquarters, charged, processed and released with a pending court date.

October 30, 2023

Police arrested a 58-year-old male for a domestic violence harassment complaint. He was processed and released with a pending court date.

October 30, 2023 at 4:35 p.m.

Patrol conducted a motor vehicle stop on a car for numerous traffic offenses. Diane Ferraro (60) of Manville was subsequently arrested for driving under the influence. She was further found to be in possession of narcotic pills that she did not have a prescription for. She was charged accordingly and released to a responsible party.

October 30, 2023, 9:03 p.m.

Patrol conducted a motor vehicle stop on a car for numerous traffic offenses. Richard Laferrara (46) of Somerset was subsequently arrested for driving under the influence. He was processed and released to a responsible party.


 

October 31, 2023, 7:07 a.m.

Police were dispatched to a local residence for a motor vehicle burglary. Upon speaking to the victim, it was determined that an unknown individual had taken her book bag and purse from her car. She later received a message from her bank indicating there was an attempted fraudulent use of her credit card at a local business. Police viewed surveillance video from the business and observed Yasin Morris (41) of Manville attempt to make the transaction with the victim’s credit card. He was later located, arrested, processed and transported to Somerset County Jail.

October 31, 2023, 9:37 p.m.

Police located a male who had an open alcoholic beverage on his person, actively urinating in public. Kevin Martinez Garcia (20) of Bound Brook was charged for the incident and released with a pending court date.
