April Police Blotter

April 1, 2024 3:41 a.m.

Patrol responded to a local residence for an unwanted person complaint. Police separated both parties and were able to handle the situation with both parties being satisfied.

 April 2, 2024 5:24 p.m.

Police responded to a local residence on the report of a burglary to a motor vehicle. Police spoke with a female who stated that her purse was taken from her vehicle. Police are actively investigating the incident.

April 3, 2024 3:48 a.m.

Police responded to the scene of a motor vehicle collision with two parked cars. After speaking with the driver, Megan Gardner (28) of Bound Brook, NJ, it was determined that she was under the influence of narcotics. Further investigation revealed that she had various narcotics on her person. She was subsequently arrested, processed and released to a responsible party in accordance with John’s Law.

April 4, 2024 7:56 a.m.

Police responded to a local residence for a motor vehicle theft. The vehicle was entered into the national database for stolen property. That afternoon, the vehicle was involved in a motor vehicle collision in another jurisdiction. The driver, Rebecca Barglowski (25) of Hillsborough, NJ, admitted to taking the vehicle without the owner’s permission earlier in the day. She was transported back to Manville Police Headquarters where she was charged, processed and released with a future court date.

April 5, 2024 10:09 a.m.

Police were contacted by a local resident who advised that her daughter was almost scammed. She reported that her daughter received a message from her “friend” stating that she was locked out of an Instagram account. Once she was prompted to send money via Cashapp, she stopped all forms of communication with the person posing as her friend.

April 8, 2024 10:09 p.m.

Patrol was dispatched to Walmart for a report of a male attempting to leave the store with merchandise without paying for it. Upon arrival, Walmart security advised patrol that the male left the store but they were able to stop him from leaving without any of the merchandise. Police are actively investigating the incident.

April 9, 2024 3:19 p.m.

Police conducted a person check on a female on South Main Street. It was determined that the female, Melanie Portilla (41) of Somerville, NJ, had an active warrant for her arrest. She was subsequently arrested, processed and transferred to Warren County Sheriff’s officers who took custody of her.

April 9, 2024 5:14 p.m.

A male entered Manville Police Headquarters in reference to a prior incident. It was revealed that the male, Dominic Lumia (41) of Somerville, NJ, had an active warrant for his arrest. He was subsequently arrested, processed and transferred to Morris County Sheriff’s officers who took custody of him.

April 9, 2024 9:22 p.m.

Patrol spoke with a female resident who advised of a theft of her property. The female stated that a home security camera was taken from the exterior of her property. Police are investigating the theft.

April 10, 2024 4:40 p.m.

Patrol responded to a local residence for a dog bite complaint. Patrol spoke with a female who advised she and her son were sitting on their porch when a German Shepherd that was not on a leash ran over and attacked them. The owner of the dog was found and she was issued the appropriate summonses.

April 15, 2024 12:14 p.m.

A resident turned over a dog that he found in Manville. Police were able to make contact with the owner of the dog and they were reunited.

April 16, 2024 8:15 a.m.

A male turned himself in to the Manville Police Department for having an active warrant. He was processed and transported to Somerset County Jail.

April 16, 2024 12:19 p.m.

Police arrested Susan Rettino (59) of Somerville, NJ for an active warrant. She was processed and transported to Somerset County Jail in lieu of bail.

April 17, 2024 7:52 p.m.

Police arrested Darren Scruggs (30) of Plainfield, NJ for an active warrant. He was processed and transported to Somerset County Jail.

April 17, 2024 9:17 p.m.

Police were dispatched to a hit and run motor vehicle collision. Police located the fleeing vehicle and made contact with the driver who appeared to be impaired. The male, Kyle Tenisci (44) of Raritan, NJ, was subsequently arrested for Driving While Intoxicated. Police also located narcotics on his person and he was charged accordingly. He was processed and released to a responsible party.

April 19, 2024 8:11 p.m.

Patrol was dispatched to a local residence on the report of a missing autistic juvenile. Police searched the area and were able to locate the male. He was turned over to his grandmother with no further issues.

April 22, 2024 9:47 a.m.

Police were dispatched to a residential area on the report of an elderly female walking around at night. Patrol located the female who stated she couldn’t find her house. Patrol was able to find out where she lived and they assisted her back home. Her daughter was notified of the incident.

April 24, 2024 2:18 a.m.

Police were dispatched to a local bar on the report of a disorderly male who was threatening the bartender and harassing female patrons. Patrol later located the male acting disorderly in the street. He was advised that he was no longer allowed at the bar, or he would be charged with trespassing, and he stated he understood.

April 25, 2024 10:06 a.m.

Police conducted a motor vehicle stop for numerous traffic violations. It was determined the driver, Edward Iannacone (59) of Basking Ridge, NJ, had numerous warrants for his arrest. He was subsequently arrested, processed and turned over to the Somerville Police Department.

April 26, 2024 2:06 a.m.

Patrol was dispatched to a local residence on the report of a motor vehicle collision between a car and a utility pole. Upon making contact with the driver, Hector Carreto Perez (43) of Manville, NJ, it was determined that he was impaired. Perez was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated, processed and released to a responsible party.

April 26, 2024 7:15 a.m.

Patrol was dispatched to the Weston Elementary School in reference to an altercation that occurred earlier that morning between two parents. After reviewing video surveillance footage patrol charged both parents with disorderly person’s offenses for their actions in the incident.

April 27, 2024 7:24 p.m.

Patrol conducted a motor vehicle stop for traffic violations. It was determined that the driver, Wilinton Cuevas-Garcia (31) a Manville resident, had a warrant for his arrest. He was able to pay his bail in full and was released on his own recognizance with a future court date.

April 29, 2024 3:12 p.m.

Patrol was dispatched to a local restaurant on the report of a male who stole money from the cash register. Upon reviewing video surveillance footage, patrol was able to identify the male as Anthony Flynn (27) of Manville, NJ. Police later located the male and placed him under arrest for theft. He was subsequently processed and transported to Somerset County Jail.

April 30, 2024 10:52 p.m.

Police arrested Gabriel Martinez (23) of Piscataway, NJ on an outstanding warrant. He was processed and released on his own recognizance with a future court date.
