July 2, 2024 12:04 p.m.

Police arrested Patrice Wilson (30) of Newton, NJ for an active Manville warrant. She was processed and released on her own recognizance with a future court date.

July 3, 2024 7:23 p.m.

Police arrested Marlon Jackson (34) of Vineland, NJ for a theft that occurred in June. He was processed and released with a future court date.

July 3, 2024 8:08 p.m.

Police conducted a motor vehicle stop for numerous traffic violations. It was determined the driver, Jonathan Schatzberg (47) of Lake Hiawatha, NJ, had an active warrant for his arrest. Search incident to arrest, Schatzberg was found to be in possession of suspected cocaine and drug paraphernalia. He was processed, charged accordingly and released with a future court date.

July 4, 2024 12:05 a.m.

Police conducted a motor vehicle stop for traffic violations. It was determined the driver, Anthony Flynn (27) of Manville, NJ had an active warrant for his arrest. He was processed and released with a future court date.

July 4, 2024 4:16 a.m.

Police were dispatched to a local residence on the report of a dispute. Patrol spoke with the victim who advised that he and another male got into a physical altercation. Prior to leaving, the other male took $20 out of the victim’s wallet. Police are actively investigating the incident.

July 4, 2024 6:18 a.m.

While on routine patrol, police were flagged down by a local resident who advised that he was the victim of an assault. Police were able to obtain video surveillance footage of the incident and confirmed an assault took place. The perpetrator, Marlon Jackson (34) of Vineland, NJ, who assaulted the victim, was located a few days later and subsequently arrested for the assault. He was processed and released with a future court date.

July 5, 2024 8:58 a.m.

Police were dispatched to a local residence on the report of a stolen motor vehicle. Police spoke with the reporting party who advised that sometime overnight, someone stole his car that was parked outside of his residence. After further investigation, it was determined the reporting party, Jose Vargas-Calvo (52) of Manville, NJ, lied about the incident due to getting into an accident the night prior. He was subsequently charged with Filing a False Police Report and given a future court date.

July 6, 2024 7:51 p.m.

Police conducted a motor vehicle stop for numerous traffic violations. It was determined the driver, Anthony Torres-Rodriguez (30) of Hillsborough, NJ, had an active warrant for his arrest. He was arrested, processed and turned over to the New Brunswick Police Department due to being unable to post bail for the warrant.

July 6, 2024 8:16 p.m.

Police were dispatched to Cooper Park on the report of a fireworks incident. The investigation revealed that a male ignited a signal cannon which subsequently exploded. Metal fragments from the device caused serious bodily injury to an individual as well as property damage to numerous homes and vehicles. Two males, Thomas Kaiser (60) of South Plainfield, NJ and Erich Kaiser (28) of Monmouth Junction, NJ, were subsequently arrested and charged with numerous felony crimes for the incident.

 

 

July 7, 2024 12:48 p.m.

Patrol was flagged down by a male who advised of a possible motor vehicle accident that occurred in the area of the Van Veghten Bridge. After investigating, it was determined that a male was blocking traffic in the area and kicked a motor vehicle while in the roadway. The male then made threatening statements towards the victim and fled the scene. Police were able to identify the male and subsequently placed Kareem Cotton (27) of Manville, NJ under arrest for Disorderly Conduct and Criminal Mischief.

July 9, 2024 1:33 p.m.

Police were dispatched to Walmart on the report of a disorderly female. Upon arrival, patrol located the female who was threatening the staff and causing a commotion. The female was advised that Walmart no longer wished for her to return to their store, and she left the store without further incident.

July 9, 2024 8:53 p.m.

Police arrested Shawn Lyons (43) of Edison, NJ for an active Manville warrant. He was processed and posted bail for the warrant. He was subsequently released with a future court date.

July 11, 2024 9:17 p.m.

Police spoke with a resident who advised he had two cell phones delivered to his home. Approximately one minute after being delivered by a FedEx truck, an unknown male wearing an amazon vest took the package off of his porch. Police are investigating the incident.

July 12, 2024 11:59 p.m.

Police conducted a motor vehicle stop for numerous traffic violations. It was determined the driver, Michael Jordan (29) of Trenton, NJ, had an active warrant for his arrest. He was subsequently arrested, processed and released on his own recognizance with a future court date.

July 13, 2024 2:00 a.m.

Police conducted a motor vehicle stop for numerous traffic offenses. The driver, Kattia Perreira Benavides (44) of Manville, NJ, was subsequently placed under arrest for driving under the influence. She was processed and released to a responsible party.

Police were advised by a female victim that her fiancé physically assaulted her. Due to her injuries, her fiancé, a 44 year-old male, was subsequently arrested for Domestic Violence Simple Assault. He was processed and transported to Somerset County Jail.

July 13, 2024

Police were dispatched to a local residence for a domestic dispute. Upon arrival it was determined the dispute was physical. Police arrested a 53 year-old male for Simple Assault. He was processed and released with a future court date.

July 14, 2024 5:26 p.m.

Police were dispatched to Walmart on the report of two males attempting fraudulent activity involving gift cards. Police arrived and the males’ transaction was voided. They were served trespassing paperwork and advised they were no longer allowed at any Walmart.

 

July 14, 2024 6:14 p.m.

Patrol was dispatched to a local convenient store for a drunk male acting strangely. While enroute, dispatch notified police that the male began driving. Patrol located the vehicle on the roadway and conducted a motor vehicle stop. After conducting Standard Field Sobriety Tests, the driver, Michael Pfeifer (39) of Manville, NJ, was subsequently placed under arrest for Driving Under the Influence. He was processed and released to a responsible party.

July 14, 2024 11:57 p.m.

A Walmart Asset Protection employee responded to Manville Police Headquarters to notify police of a shoplifting incident that occurred a month prior. After reviewing video surveillance footage, it was determined that Yasin Morris (42) of Manville, NJ had stolen numerous items from the store. A complaint summons was generated for him, and he was served his copy of it.

July 17, 2024 4:15 p.m.

Patrol conducted a motor vehicle stop for traffic violations. It was determined the driver, Edward Iannacone (59) of Basking Ridge, NJ, had numerous warrants for his arrest. He was subsequently arrested, processed and transported to Somerset County Jail in lieu of bail.

July 17, 2024

Police were dispatched to a local residence on the report of a domestic dispute. Upon arrival it was determined the dispute was physical. Police arrested a 37 year-old female for Simple Assault. She was processed and released with a future court date.

July 18, 2024 12:10 p.m.

Police were dispatched to a local residence on the report of a motor vehicle burglary that occurred two days earlier. Police were able to view video surveillance footage from a nearby business and immediately recognized the perpetrator as Alexa Farenga (36) of Somerville, NJ. She was located and arrested. Search incident to arrest, police located a glass smoking pipe on her person. She was processed, charged with Burglary and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and released with a future court date.

July 18, 2024 5:20 p.m.

Police were dispatched to a local residence on the report of an unknown male drinking alcohol on the reporting party’s porch. Upon arrival, the male got on his bicycle and fled from patrol. Patrol recognized the male as Erik Biago (32) of Manville, NJ. Police issued multiple borough ordinance summonses as well as traffic summonses to Biago for the incident.

July 20, 2024 7:21 a.m.

Police responded to Walmart on the report of a male stealing money from the store. Upon arrival, police spoke with Walmart staff who reported that the male takes the spare change from the self-checkout registers. Walmart wished for the male to be given a trespass notice. He was subsequently advised not to return to the store.

Police responded to a local residence on the report of a domestic dispute. Upon arrival, police spoke with a female who advised that her niece and her got into a verbal altercation over the purchase of a couch for her apartment. The argument escalated and her niece, a 35 year-old female, used a box cutter to vandalize the couch and fled the scene. Police generated a complaint summons charging the 35 year-old female with Criminal Mischief.

July 22, 2024 11:09 a.m.

Police placed Kavon Casey (43) of South Bound Brook, NJ under arrest for a Manville warrant. He was subsequently processed and released after being able to post bail.

July 23, 2024 4:35 p.m.

Police arrested Gary Thuesday (36) of Aberdeen, NJ for a Manville warrant. He was processed and released after posting bail.

Police responded to a local residence on the report of a domestic dispute. Upon arrival, police arrested a 42 year-old female for Domestic Violence Simple Assault. She was processed and released with a future court date.

July 27, 2024 5:53 p.m.

Police responded to Reading Cinemas on the report of numerous thefts that have occurred there. Police spoke with the manager who advised that a family has stolen food items and has scammed the theater in order to get free movie tickets. Police are actively investigating the incident.

July 27, 2024 10:32 p.m.

Patrol was dispatched to Walmart on the report of a male taking various items from the store and putting them in his backpack. Police arrived and arrested Jonathan Kim (20) of Hillsborough, NJ for Shoplifting. He was processed and released with a future court appearance.

July 28, 2024

Police located a male who was entered into the national database for wanted persons last month in regard to a domestic violence simple assault complaint. The 42-year-old male was subsequently placed under arrest, processed and transported to Somerset County Jail.

July 29, 2024 6:30 a.m.

Police responded to Adesa Auto Auctions on the report of a theft. Police spoke with the caller who advised his trailer was parked there overnight and when he returned, an unknown individual took the detachable ramps affixed to it. Police are actively investigating the incident.

July 29, 2024 4:23 p.m.

Police arrested Crizzon Coles (48) of North Plainfield, NJ for an active Manville warrant. He was processed and released on his own recognizance with a future court date.

July 30, 2024 6:45 p.m.

Police were dispatched to a local residence on the report of a theft complaint. Patrol spoke with the caller who advised that belongings of his that were left on his lawn were taken. Police have obtained information regarding the vehicle involved in the theft and are investigating the incident.

   NOTE:  The charges are merely an accusation, and the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
