October Police Blotter

October 1, 2024 6:00 p.m.

Police responed to Walmart on the report of a disorderly person. Police spoke with Walmart staff who advised that a female in the store was being verbally aggressive towards people and they wished for her to no longer shop there. Police gave the female a verbal trespass notice and sent her on her way.

October 2, 2024 11:49 a.m.

Patrol was dispatched to a local restaurant for a report of a cooking oil theft. An employee for the restaurant advised that a few days earlier, an unknown individual in a white van stole an unknown amount of cooking oil from outside of the restaurant. Police are investigating the theft.

October 3, 2024 11:20 p.m.

While on routine patrol, police conducted a motor vehicle stop for numerous traffic violations. Patrol observed an open container of an alcoholic beverage as well as drug paraphernalia inside of the vehicle while speaking with the driver. A police K-9 unit responded to the scene and conducted an open air sniff around the vehicle. The K-9 had a positive indication resulting in police searching the vehcile. While conducting the search, patrol located suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. The driver, Debbie Drake (52) of Dunellen, NJ, was subsequently arrested. She was processed, charged accordingly and released with a future court date.

October 4, 2024 7:17 p.m.

Patrol was dispatched to Walmart for a report of a customer who frequently is aggressive with employees. Walmart staff advised police that they no longer wished for the male to shop at the store. The male was given a verbal trespass notice and sent on his way.

October 8, 2024 1:03 p.m.

Police arrested Justin Musumeci (48) of Manville, NJ for an outstanding warrant out of Bridgewater Township. He was processed and turned over to the Bridgewater Police Department.

October 10, 2024 3:42 p.m.

Police responded to Walmart on the report of a disorderly person. Patrol was advised that a female became irrate when an employee asked to check her receipt while she was leaving and Walmart management wished for her to be given a verbal trespass notice. Police located the female in a vehicle in the parking lot and formally advised her she was no longer allowed at Walmart.

October 10, 2024 10:19 p.m.

Patrol was dispatched to Express Fuel gas station for a report of a robbery. The gas attendant advised police that while he was working a vehicle showed up at the gas station. Two males wearing masks and gloves got out of the vehicle, assaulted the gas attendant, and took money from him. A few days later, Linden Police Department arrested one of the males involved. Stanley Cenatus (32) of Irvington, NJ was charged with 2nd Degree Robbery as well as numerous other crimes that were committed in other jurisdictions.

October 11, 2024 3:49 p.m.

Police responded to a local residence for a report of a stolen bicycle. Police spoke with the reporting party who advised that his granddaughter’s bicycle was taken from the front of their home. Later that day, a male turned in a bicycle that he found on Main Street. The victim was contacted and shown a picture of the bicycle. He confirmed it was his and the bicycle was turned back over to him.

October 12, 2024 2:06 p.m.

Police were dispatched to a local reisdence for a report of a juvenile who stole a bicycle from the reporting party’s property. While enroute, patrol observed a juvenile who fit the description provided, riding on a bicycle with two other juveniles. They were stopped and spoke with police. It was determined that the bicycle did belong to the victim and it was turned back over to him. Parents for all three juveniles were contacted and they were turned over to their parents.

October 12, 2024 5:15 p.m.

Police were dispatched to Walmart on the report of a juvenile shoplifter currently in custody. Walmart employees advised they observed the juvenile take multiple items and they wished for the juvenile to be be given a trespass notice. His parents were contacted and advised of what happened. He was then turned over to a family member.

October 12, 2024 8:44 p.m.

Police were dispatched to a local restaurant for a report of a male who left without paying for his meal. The male was located and patrol facilitated the payment between him and the restaurant. He was then given a verbal trespass notice.

October 17, 2024 3:17 p.m.

Police repsonded to Walmart for a report of a female shoplifter who was currently in custody. Patrol arrived and spoke with Walmart staff who advised they did not want the female charged however, wished for her to be given a trespass notice. The female was given her trespass notice and was advised not to return to the store.

October 21, 2024 8:23 a.m.

Police were dispatched to a local residence on the report of a motor vehicle burglary. Patrol spoke with the resident who advised that someone had taken his wallet out of his vehicle during the night and he had multiple pending charges on his credit card statement at a local business. After reviewing surveillance footage from the business, it was determined that Alexa Farenga (36) of Somerville, NJ had used one of the victim’s credit cards. She was charged with Theft by Deception as well as Defiant Trespassing.

October 21, 2024 5:06 p.m.

Police were dispatched to Walmart on the report of a disorderly female in the store. Police spoke with Walmart staff who advised that the female brought her pet dog inside of the store which subsequently defecated in the store. The female was given a verbal trespass notice and advised not to return to the store.

October 22, 2024 2:12 p.m.

Patrol conducted a pedestrian stop on two individuals for jaywalking. It was determined one of the individuals, Patricia McCord (58) of Manville, NJ had an active warrant for her arrest. She was taken into custody, processed and released with a future court date.

October 23, 2024

Police responded to a local group home on the report of a Criminal Mischief complaint. Upon arrival, police spoke with two roommates and determined that a 41 year-old male had damaged property belonging to his roommate. He was subsequently arrested for Domestic Violence Criminal Mischief, processed and released with a future court date.

October 25, 2024 12:02 a.m.

While on routine patrol, police conducted a motor vehicle stop for numerous traffic violations. The driver, Javier Duran Perez (28) of Manville, NJ, was determined to be under the influence of alcohol. He was subsequently placed under arrest, processed and released to a responsible party.

October 25, 2024 8:42 p.m.

Police were dispatched to the area of Royal Farms on the report of a reckless driver. Police located the vehicle in the parking lot and made contact with the driver. The driver, Sebastian Mercado (31) of Manville, NJ, was determined to be under the influence of alcohol. He was subsequently placed under arrest, processed and released to a responsible party.

October 26, 2024 10:50 a.m.

Police reponded to a local residence on the report of a motor vehicle theft. Patrol spoke with the owner of the vehicle who advised that sometime overnight, the vehicle was taken. The vehicle was then entered into the national database for stolen motor vehicles. Police are actively investigating the incident.

October 29, 2024 3:55 a.m.

Police arrested Christopher Foulds (35) of Somerville, NJ for an active warrant. He was processed and transported to Somerset County Jail.

October 30, 2024 6:34 p.m.

Police responded to Walmart on the report of a disorderly male. Upon arrival, police spoke with Walmart staff who advised that an older, white male made threatening comments and used racial slurs towards Walmart staff. Police are investigating the incident.

October 31, 2024 12:25 a.m.

Police conducted a pedestrian stop on a male. It was determined the male, Derrick Carreker (33) of Manville, NJ, had an active warrant for his arrest. He was processed and released on his own recognizance with a future court date.

October 31, 2024 8:56 p.m.

Police were dispatched to a local residence on the report of two juveniles who kicked the victim’s front door. Police spoke with the victim who advised that they heard a loud bang while they were inside of the house. They checked their video surveillance cameras and observed a juvenile run up to the front door, kick it, and then run away. Police are investigating the incident.

October 31, 2024 11:05 p.m.

Police conducted a motor vehicle stop for numerous traffic violations. While speaking with the driver, police observed drug paraphernalia inside of the vehicle. The driver, Andrea May (46) of Manville, NJ, was subsequently arrested and charged accordingly. She was processed and released with a future court date.

NOTE: The charges are merely an accusation, and the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
